    So my Cubbies now have Yu Darvish

    I think the Cubs did ok here. I'm truly not a big fan of his, so only time if this is a right move. But it now looks like the Jake Arrieta era is all over. But there still might be a chance that the Cubs give him a one year deal like they did for Dexter Fowler. I wasn't surprised to see Darvish and Arrieta still on the market as well, it seems teams are not in a hurry to add the big pieces available. I read that less then 40% of all free agents have signed new deals, either with a new club or the one they were on last season. So this will be good for teams who can maybe get them back for a good price one year flyer.

    Interesting wuth so many unsigned guys. I love Arrieta so I'd hate nut to have him back. But Darvish is a solid consolation prize but admittedly one i haven't seen play much

    I have read that some think the owners are not signing guys now, so they can level off the prices of players, and even make them take 1-2 year deals in favor of some teams. Granted I think their are way to many making way to much, and its hurting the fan the most. But again the teams do make a lot of money off of the players who draw for them......and way to many small market teams just don't care much what product they out out there, because the league has a revenue sharing in place too.

    And here is a list of players still unsigned

    Among the dozens of unsigned free agents are starters Alex Cobb, Lance Lynn, Jason Vargas and Andrew Cashner;

    relievers Tony Watson, Francisco Liriano and Bud Norris (has since signed with the Cardinals).

    first basemen Lucas Duda, Matt Holliday, Logan Morrison, Mike Napoli and Mark Reynolds; catchers A. J. Ellis, Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Ruiz and Chris Stewart;

    second basemen Brandon Phillips, Chase Utley and Neil Walker.

    Wow. That i ton of talent.....looks like primarily old talent though. I guess I'm pretty much always on the side of the guys who put their bodies on the line and not the guys who write checks. So I never have a problem with players getting a bigger piece. From a delivering to the fans standpoint, I like the NFL model the best where most teams can at least start the year with championship hopes whereas that is not the case in baseball or basketball.
