Newsmakers from Sunday's action:

Rafael Devers, 3b, Red Sox. Just 10 days after president Dave Dombrowski said he wasnít ready for the bigs, the Red Sox have decided to promote top prospect Rafael Devers. Rather than make a trade to fill their third base vacancy, Devers will make his big league debut Tuesday. Kyle Glaser has more.

Eloy Jimenez, lf, White Sox. Jose Quintana has delivered two quality starts for the Cubs, but the White Sox donít regret that deal. Jimenez, the main prize in the four-player package from the Cubs, had a career-high five hits Sunday as high Class A Myrtle Beach beat Salem (Red Sox) 11-10. Jimenez homered, doubled twice and singled twice. In nine games in the White Sox organization, Jimenez, 20, is 14-for-31 with seven extra-base hits and 10 RBIs.

GCL Nationals. The Nationalsí Rookie-level affiliate pulled off a first Sunday as four prospects combined to pitch two, seven-inning no-hitters in a doubleheader sweep of the Marlins. In Game 1, No. 29 prospect Joan Baez pitched six no-hit innings and Jose Jimenez closed out the 4-0 win. In Game 2, lefthander Jared Johnson pitched four hitless innings and was followed by fellow southpaw Gilberto Chu, who struck out four in three perfect innings. The no-nos were the first in the GCL this season.

Tyler Kolek, rhp, Marlins. Kolek, the No. 2 overall pick in 2014 who missed all of 2016 because of Tommy John surgery, made his second appearance since 2015 on Sunday in Game 1 against the GCL Nationals. Kolek walked two in one hitless inning.

Brock Burke, lhp, Rays. Burke delivered his second straight scoreless outing Sunday as low high Class A Charlotte blanked Palm Beach (Cardinals) 3-0. Burke allowed just four hits in seven innings to improve to 2-3, 3.60 since his promotion from low Class A. The 6-4 lefthander was a third-round pick of the Rays in 2014 out of high school in Colorado. Burkeís fastball has topped out at 94 mph, but commonly sits 89-92. He is difficult to hit because of some deception and his command has shown improvement as the year has gone on.
